Our new garden has been in the planning for many years, and after much hard work, and with thanks to the commitment
of a lot of people, our new play area was opened on 29 April at our Royal Garden Party.
As many people are aware, before this wonderful addition, the children used to play on a tarmac area in front of the
Pre-School hall. Now the children have access to a lovely, newly refurbished area which the Pre-School committee
(past & present) and the church committee have worked hard together to complete.
The area has a new lawn and fencing along with some lovely plants which were donated by the children
from Pre-School. We have been extremely fortunate to have been donated a playhouse, see-saw and sandpit,
these join our climbing frame and other playhouse which the children thoroughly enjoy using. Lots of the other equipment
for our play area including wheelbarrows, children's gardening equipment, greenhouse, bird feeders,
bug magnifiers, chalk boards plus much more have been bought with money from grants that the committee have
successfully obtained from The Co-Op Community Fund, Grassroots and Heathfield and Waldron Parish Council.
The church committee has been extremely generous and together with the Pre-School we hope that they will enjoy
many years of happiness using the garden too.
