Our Space
We provide a range of indoor and outdoor resources to help children to be active, creative and experience critical thinking through both child and adult led activities.
At St Richard’s Preschool we are lucky to have a large indoor space which we use creatively to encourage children to explore and enjoy. We have a wide range of resources to complement our space, which helps to promote each child's individual learning and development through play and interactions with our skilled staff and other children.
We are very proud of our outdoors area, which we are continually working to improve to ensure we provide a stimulating and immersive experience. Our children have open door access to this spacious and secure play area every day, regardless of the weather!
Always on offer are a range of exciting activities to ensure that children have the opportunity to access all areas of the EYFS while playing outdoors. When the weather is wet, we have an undercover area where children can keep dry if they wish, or we can go puddle splashing in our wellies and waterproofs!
The children are exposed to lots of messy and hands-on experiences, including muddy kitchen, sand and water tray, builders yard and growing vegetables. Our sheds house many other resources including bikes, arts and crafts, books, games and construction activities.
We are very lucky to have access to a community garden which we have developed into a play and nature area.
